We’ll help you select the class. Your job is to arrive with enough time to settle in and pay attention to the coaching.

Choose the kids or adult option. If you are interested in women’s BJJ or wrestling, select adults and tell us which program you want to try.

02

Confirm the class

Review the current schedule and watch for confirmation or follow-up from Rolling Bear. We’ll help match age, experience, and goals to the right class.

03

Arrive and learn

Come a little early, meet the coach, ask questions, and learn the class structure. No one expects a new visitor to already know what to do.

What to bring

Clean, simple,
and ready to move.

Contact us before your visit so we can confirm whether the class is Gi, No-Gi, or wrestling. Requirements can vary by session, but these basics will help you prepare.

  • Clean athletic clothing without metal, zippers, or anything that can catch.
  • A refillable water bottle.
  • Short, clean fingernails and toenails.
  • Sandals or footwear for anywhere off the mats—never walk barefoot in restrooms.
  • Remove jewelry, watches, and piercings that may be unsafe during training.
  • Let the coach know about injuries, limitations, or relevant concerns.

What class feels like

Structured learning.
Room to breathe.

Class formats vary, but most sessions move from preparation and instruction into guided drilling, positional work, or live training appropriate to the group.

FOR ADULTS

Learn before intensity

Your first visit is about understanding the movement, positions, coaching language, and room. You will not be expected to prove yourself or keep pace with experienced students.

First-visit questions

Nothing to
prove.

A first class is a chance to see the academy, meet the coaches, and decide whether the training feels right for you or your child.

Do I need to be athletic?

No. Coordination and conditioning develop through training. Coaches can help you work at an appropriate pace.

Will I be forced to spar?

No. A new student should understand the room and basic safety before live training. Coaches will tell you what is appropriate for the class.

Can I watch before participating?

Contact us about the class you are considering. We can explain the best way to visit, observe, or schedule a trial.

Where is the academy?
