Own the transition

Takedown to control.
Control to progress.

Wrestling teaches you to create position deliberately—on the feet, through the takedown, and during the scramble that follows.

01

Takedowns

Build stance, motion, entries, finishes, and combinations that help you attack confidently and connect techniques when the first option changes.

02

Defense & pressure

Develop reliable takedown defense, balance, hand fighting, mat returns, and pressure that makes control deliberate rather than accidental.

03

Scrambles

Learn to recognize transitions, recover position, stay composed, and turn fast exchanges into controlled opportunities.

transfers.

Keep developing after school

Continue sharpening entries, defense, pressure, and match awareness in an adult room focused on technical growth and durable movement.

FOR BJJ & GRAPPLING

Adult wrestling questions

Start with
the fundamentals.

You do not need a competitive wrestling background to benefit from the class.

Can adults begin wrestling with no experience?

Yes. Coaches can introduce stance, movement, hand fighting, takedown mechanics, and safe partner work from the beginning.

Do I need to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu too?

No. The wrestling program develops wrestling skills directly. BJJ students are welcome to add it to their existing training.

Is this useful for BJJ or MMA?

Yes. Takedowns, defense, top pressure, and scrambles transfer directly to BJJ and submission grappling and form an important grappling base for MMA. Rolling Bear does not currently advertise a separate MMA curriculum.

What should I bring?

Wear clean, fitted athletic clothing without zippers or pockets. Wrestling shoes may depend on the session, so contact us before your first visit.
